Introduction
The Hill of Manghyang is a place that was erected for the purpose of rest for overseas Koreans. This includes Korean residents in Japan who were forced to leave their homeland due to the invasion of Japanese imperialism and passed away in the midst of sadness and hardship, mourning the decay of their country and missing their homeland.
Spirits of Koreans overseas around the world in countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Russia, Uzbekistan, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Malawi, France, and Germany are now at rest.
As a place that not only realizes the dearest wishes of overseas Koreans to return home after being compulsorily mobilized without their intent in the Japanese colonial era, this area is also a historical site that
awakens descendants to the pain and morals that come with the loss of sovereignity. As such a location, the fraternal love of the citizens of Korea for their overseas brothers and sisters lives and thrives.
After a proposition from the Korean Residents Union in Japan and gathering together the active support of all citizens along with Foreign Countrymen Homeland Visit Supporters Association admist particular support from the government, construction was finally completed in 1976.
